Rising stars at Lincoln Hall

Talk about a hot show! Some of Chicago’s indie rising acts-to-know head to Lincoln Hall this weekend as ZORILA — originally from Plainfield and Central Illinois — brings its recent single “Honey,” a new EP and an increasingly lush alt-rock sound to the headlining slot, joined by indie pop stars The Mild West, Chicago hip-hop and recording artist Young Xav and dream-popsters Capital Soirée. 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Out of Space with Costello, Williams and Guy

Evanston SPACE introduces the first of its two 2022 Out of Space concert series this weekend, with four shows set under the stars at the Canal Shores Golf Course in Evanston. On Thursday, indie folk singer Jenny Lewis headlines the show, joined by the bluegrass-inspired Tramped By Turtles. Friday, Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets and Nicole Atkins join Elvis Costello & the Imposters in the spotlight. Saturday brings Lucinda Williams and Waxahatchee, along with Liam Kazar, to town. And Sunday, Todd Park Mohr (of Big Head Todd & the Monsters) and Bobby Rush warm things up for Chicago’s own blues legend Buddy Guy. Bring blankets or lawn seats and enjoy the show from the course’s first and second holes.

The Linden Method/Take the Reins release show

With this spring’s catchy new single and witty video “I’m at Your Door,” West Suburban punk rock band Take the Reins launched a new season of music, including the recent release of the seven-song EP of the same name. The Linden Method is jumping back on the release game with last week’s single “Monsters Inside,” the first of a set of new pop-punk songs the band — originally hailing from DuPage and suburban Cook County — will be dropping. The two bands team up on a dual-release show along with Guardrail at Chicago’s GMan Tavern for a night full of new music and the camaraderie of the city’s thriving punk scene. 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at GMan Tavern, 3740 N. The Revivalists at Ravinia

With one foot in classic Southern rock, the other in modern alternative and their head in the clouds belting out soaring soulful melodies, The Revivalists harness their Louisiana roots in their fiery stage performances and platinum-selling hits. The Town’s 11th Anniversary Soiree

The Town Bar & Grill marks 11 years in Aurora with an all-day celebration Saturday. Enjoy brunch specials from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a taco bar later in the day, bags tournaments with a cash prize and music from Chicago’s All-American Throwbacks. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at The Town Bar & Grill, 2681 E. Soundboard Sessions

With the success of its inaugural outing, Andrew Moore of Elgin’s Watch City brings two out-of-town acts for the second edition of Soundboard Sessions, a new concert series featuring recording artists playing stripped-down, acoustic performances live in front of fans at Vern’s Tavern. This weekend, emo-folk artist Lester. and indie-rocker Danny VanZandt head to Elgin from Detroit, Michigan, for the intimate show. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Vern’s Tavern, 76 S.
