From Lolla to late night: Beach Bunny hits your TV on Kimmel Wednesday

The band Beach Bunny — featuring members from Elgin and Chicago — plays ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in anticipation of Friday’s new EP, “Blame Game.”

Lili Trifilio dreamed of some day being known for her music. And over the last few years, she has brought that dream to life.

On Wednesday, Jan. 13, the Chicago native and her surf-poppy band Beach Bunny will share their music with the nation when they debut on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The late-night talk show performance will give viewers a taste of what she and the band — South Elgin High grads Jonathan Alvarado and Matt Henkels, and Chicago artist Anthony Vaccaro — have been cooking up for Friday’s release of the new “Blame Game” EP.

The television appearance is another milestone for Beach Bunny, following the band’s climb to the Lollapalooza stage in 2019 after playing Riot Fest the year before.

“In 2016, I made a New Years’ resolution to one day play Lollapalooza,” Trifilio said. “Back then, Beach Bunny wasn’t even a band. It was a solo act. Three years later it happened. It’s all very organic, how we went from playing coffee shops to this.”

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs at 10:35 p.m. on ABC.
