New music venue Radius to open in March with Lil Wayne, Alkaline Trio on roster
This week, Nick Karounos, co-owner and operator of Chicago’s Concord Music Hall and Prysm Nightclub, announced the March 2020 opening of new music venue Radius at 640 W. Cermak Road in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.
He also revealed a slate of acts featuring rapper Lil Wayne (March 24), punk band Bad Religion with Chicago’s own Alkaline Trio (April 18) and Australian psych-rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard (April 24) in the venue’s first months.
The 55,000-square-foot Radius was built in a converted steel factory and will feature nine full-service bars, a mezzanine level for VIP packages, lounges and an outdoor area. It can accommodate 2,500 to 3,800 guests.
Radius also will feature the 10,000-square-foot Cermak Hall, a multipurpose space designed to cater to weddings, conventions and other events.
Tickets for some of the shows — which also include electronic artist Dillon Francis (Feb. 29), techno artist Carl Cox (March 6), house producer Tchami (March 13) and metalcore band Killswitch Engage (April 4) — are on sale now; the rest will be on sale to the public at noon Friday, Dec. 13, at radius-chicago.com.
